Major James Murray Grant/Hugh Grant

Je ne sais pas si je dois poster ceci ici ?
Mais pour ceux qui lisent l'anglais, je veux vous faire profiter d'un article découvert hier dans le Daily Mail, qui raconte comment le grand-père de l'acteur Hugh Grant, le Major James Murray Grant, des Seaforth Highlanders (51st Highland Division), a refusé malgré les ordres de se rendre en juin 40, à Saint-Valéry-en-Caux, aux Allemands qui l'encerclaient :
"The story of how Hugh Grant's grandfather defied orders during WWII is the one film he longs to make"
La situation était désespérée (évacuation prévue impossible, troupes prises au piège), mais vous comprenez :
"But he was from a family with a long military heritage, and was keenly aware of the proud traditions of his regiment. (...) No battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders had ever surrendered in its 170-year history. Despite the tight predicament they were in, they must not blot that unblemished reputation for endurance and bravery."

L'épisode est-il connu des spécialistes ???
Attention (âmes françaises sensibles) : dans cet article les Français passent encore pour des gens qui hissent trop vite le drapeau blanc (c'est le Daily Mail !)...: "But it was the French who gave up (...) All over town, enraged British officers were seen tearing apart French white flags."
