I would appreciate your opinions, les gars, about what would have been the French internal situation if the Paris government had had refused to declare war against Germany for Poland on September 1939 (Britain, without her "Continental sword", or if someone prefers, her cannonfodder, would stay neutral too, of course).
Merci bien
EC
Enrico Cernuschi a écrit:Pardon,
I was not going to cause any bagarre. The mechanich of the declarations of war is a well known one, think at World War one for example.
The point is not what Hitler would have done on 1940 of if the Western powers would attack him in the rear on 1940. My doubts are about the existence of an indipendent interior French politic alternative after Britain had decided by March 1939 to begin the new European war as soon as possible waiting for the next crisis (scheduled at first for Summer 1940, not before).
