Re,
"On the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki there was declassified the report of the Soviet ambassador to Japan about the state of the Japanese cities a month after the nuclear attack. The document published on the site of the Russian Historical Society contains descriptions of the devastation and stories of eyewitnesses as well as the information about types of damage and the nature of the diseases caused by the explosion of the atomic bomb.
The Russian Historical Society has published the document by the courtesy of the Archives of Russian foreign policy. A month after the nuclear attack a group of employees of the Soviet Embassy was sent to the regions of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They were tasked ‘to personally study the effect of the nuclear bomb’. The members of the group prepared a written report on the situation on the spot of the nuclear attack and took pictures. "
