The last issue of the Italian magazine "Nuova Storia Contemporanea" stated that Sante Garibaldi, a nephew of the famous XIX general, formed during Spring 1940 a 1.500 Italian legion within the French Army and that this unit fought the Germans some months later 1940 at Tours. No other detail is available.
May someone add any further detail about this matter? Did the institution of this troop begun on 1939? Was a Foreign Legion battalion/batery or what else?
